Tell me more about this welcome party . . .
We’re so grateful you’re traveling all the way to Porto to help us celebrate! We’re kicking off the festivities by combining a welcome party with Mathew’s Chantham Charthal.

What is a Chantham Charthal
A Chantham Charthal is a pre-wedding ceremony that translates to "beautification of the groom", involving a prayer, a ceremonial shave, and feeding of a sweet dish, signifying the groom's readiness for marriage.

Where is the party located and how do I get there?
The party will be held on the VP Terrace at World of Wine in Vila Nova de Gaia, across the river from Porto. The address is: Rua do Choupelo, 39, Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Portugal 4400-088.
We will be providing transportation to and from Palacio do Freixo. If you would like to leave from another location or go separately, we recommend a cab or Uber.
-
Will there be food?
Yes! We want you to relax as much as possible, so we will be providing dinner as well as drinks for the evening.
-
What should I wear?
All guests are welcome to wear Indian or Western attire, with bright, festive colors being a good choice. If you're unsure, opting for a blend of Indian and Western semi-formal attire would also look great.
Indian attire for women could include anarkalis, lehengas, shararas, or salwar kameez. Western wear could include maxi dresses, jumpsuits, or skirt and blouse combinations.Men looking to dress in Indian attire should look for a kurta. Western attire could be suits, or slacks with a dress shirt.
